Dr Clarisse Lafleur advises family offices, business families, and ultra-high-net-worth principals on succession, governance, next-generation engagement, and long-term continuity. Raised within a multi-generational family enterprise and combining that experience with doctoral research, she brings a perspective shaped by both lived experience and academic rigour.
Her work focuses on the human dimensions of continuity, helping families navigate leadership transition, develop governance structures, prepare future generations, and strengthen the trust, stewardship, and alignment required to sustain success across generations. Clarisse is particularly interested in the interpersonal and strategic dynamics that influence family continuity, recognising that the long-term preservation of family enterprise depends on far more than wealth transfer alone.
French-born and Australia-based, Clarisse brings an international outlook and experience navigating culturally diverse family and business environments. Fluent in both English and French, she works with globally minded families and family enterprises across generations and jurisdictions.
Alongside her advisory practice, Clarisse maintains an active research interest in family offices, governance, succession, and next-generation engagement. Her doctoral research at Bond University examines how contemporary business families navigate questions of power, governance, legitimacy, and generational commitment. Through studies of family-firm whistleblowing, family office succession and governance, and the experiences of next-generation family members beyond the operating business, her work explores the challenges families face as they balance inherited legacy with evolving expectations across generations.
She is also recognised for her emerging work on reputational stewardship and digital legitimacy within family enterprises, exploring the growing relationship between governance, online visibility, leadership credibility, and next-generation transition in an increasingly transparent world.
